Happy July 4th, friends!
Kev and I are celebrating in Spain this year, and let me tell you, its been SO nice to get away. A break from routine is always, ALWAYS good. Once we get back, we only have 7 days in D.C. before we move to Austin. Because I’m forward thinking (live in the moment, Arie, ugh), I’m also planning for the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale!
This sale is basically like Christmas in the July/August. Nordstrom brings out a lot of new inventory, at amazing prices (unlike other “semi annual sales” which sell preexisting inventory at a sale price to get rid of out of season inventory).
This year, the sale is happening from July 21st- August 6th. Nordstrom card holders (debit or credit), get early access which means they can start shopping on July 13th! I’m the type to not buy into these store cards, but I do have the Nordstrom Debit card. It acts as a normal debit card ie. as soon as you use it, it deducts from your bank account. I prefer that over the credit card just to hold myself to another level of accountability (which the hubs and I prefer)! Last year, a lot of great items sold out during early access, so if you are looking to stock up for fall, or are looking for a few designer items here and there, I can’t recommend early access enough.
July 13: Early Access for Nordstrom Cardholders
July 21st: The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale opens to the public!
August 7th: Prices go back up
So what is part of this sale, and why is it SO amazing?
Nordstrom released their catalog last week, which gives a great sneak peek into the items that will be part of the sale! I’m excited to shop for a new fall/winter weather pattern, as it seems like I won’t be needing a lot of my D.C. winter clothes anymore in Austin, TX!
I usually grab some type of quality denim (AG, Joes, J.brand etc.), stock up on tops (most of the tops I got last year were under $30 each), and I find its a great time to grab boots/booties, as well as makeup/handbags/sunnies!
- Take a look at the catalog and bookmark items you are most excited about. The cheapest items tend to go first (obviously)!
- If you’re comfortable, sign up for the Nordstrom card so you can grab early access.
- Set a budget! Its easy to go crazy and purchase a ton of items you may not need, just because the deals are so great!
- Remember that Nordstrom has an amazing return policy, so if you do go overboard (we’ve all been there), you can return what you don’t want later!
I hope this was helpful! On July 13th, I’ll be doing a huge curated post of all of my favorite items that are part of the sale. Hope everyone has a wonderful and safe July 4th!
